ARTIST PROFILE

"Néstor Millán behaves like a modern painter breaking the rules of traditional painting by using ready-mades. This procedure is hindered by depicting realistic figures and objects as a postmodern artist. Both forms of representation seems to diminish each other's effect but ultimately demands a new glance in order to appreciate all the possibilities inherent to the artist's creative process. By deconstructing and reconstructing Millán assumes painting as a reflexive act."

Ingrid M. Jiménez - PhD. Art Historian and Essayist

"Known for his refined use of color and delicate sense of composition, Nestor Millan always tries to harmonize in his paintings an intelligent and generous understanding of the human race and a deep belief that beauty, sensuality and love are the true road to a higher good."

Manuel Alvarez Lezama - Art Critic

"Néstor Millán holds a feast with jumbled and highly saturated colors. They screech on kitsch but his highly calculated selection replies to a very expressive "joie de vivre" absent on his early work."

Enrique García Gutiérrez - Art Historian / Critic
