In October, Quetzalcoatl celebrated his first twenty years of professional artistic career with a full house event held at La Concha Renaissance San Juan Resort. A selection of paintings created throughout the past twenty years were exhibited during the event.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum is getting ready for the exhibition Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art.

Our America presents more than ninety works of art across all media by seventy-two Latino artists active since the mid-twentieth century and gives voice to their broader American experience. Drawn entirely from the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s permanent collection, the exhibition explores how Latino artists shaped the artistic movements of their day and re calibrated key themes in American art and culture. The artwork titled Radiante, by Puerto Rican abstract artist Olga Albizu, will be showcased as part of the exhibition.

Radiante, oil on canvas painting with dimensions of 68” x 62” from the year 1967, is part of the permanent collection of the museum and it was a gift from JP Morgan Chase.

» Biaggi & Faure teamed-up with Reinhold Jewelers in the ARQ event to showcase the latest creations by Puerto Rican artist Quetzalcoatl as well as jewelry by Spanish designer Armenta. The event was held at the Reinhold Jewelers stores in Plaza las Américas in San Juan and Plaza del Caribe in Ponce.

           
   
           

» Biaggi & Faure in their continuing effort to contribute to charitable institutions teamed-up with Puerto Rican baseball super star Carlos Beltrán in their Annual Gala held at the Centro de Convenciones de Puerto Rico. Biaggi & Faure donated the total proceeds from the sale of a Quetzalcoatl's painting to the Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy.

           
   
           

» Quetzalcoatl was invited by Grupo Larrea to develop along with Puerto Rican pop star singer Kany García a painting for a fundraising project to benefit Instituto Psicopedagógico de Puerto Rico. This event was held at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico.

   
 

» Quetzalcoatl's professional career was recognized by Méndez & Co. at the launching event of Buchanan's whisky held at Yaya's Restaurant in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

 

» Quetzalcoatl was recognized by the students of the Central High School of Visual Arts in Santurce, Puerto Rico.

           
   
           

» Recently Quetzalcoatl celebrated at La Concha Resort & Casino the After-Party of his 2010 solo show titled La Linda Manita / Piel Grasosa. Many of his fans and collectors joined him for a night full of art and celebration.

The sculpture “Mapa Cósmico” of artist Heriberto Nieves was selected by the Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Fine Arts to participate in an exhibition to be held in Beijing, China as part of the 2008 Olympic Games celebration.

 

This stainless steel sculpture with measurements of 54” x 14” x 68” is to be presented along with 600 additional works by artists from all over the world.

 

The exhibition is going to take place in China’s International Exhibition Center, Forbidden City and the Beijing Olympic Village from August 8, 2008 to September 17, 2008.

 

From September 2008-2010 this show will travel around the world visiting various cities as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Switzerland and the United States.

 

 


 

Quetzalcoatl was recently appointed as official spokesperson for the 2008 international media campaign of Rums of Puerto Rico.

Jaime Romano and Biaggi & Faure Fine Art has been awarded by the International Association of Art Critics based in Paris, France. Jaime Romano's solo show titled Marginados presented at Biaggi & Faure on October 2006 has been selected as the Best Individual Exposition of the Year 2006.

 


 

Noemí Ruiz is exhibiting in the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico, a retrospective show of a selection of one hundred artworks produced throughout her fifty years of trayectory. The exhibition Noemí Ruiz and its Space in Time / Noemí Ruiz y su Espacio en el Tiempo will remain open to the public until June 3, 2007.

 


 

Javier David Ramos was selected to present his latest solo show Chromatic Structure for an Obsession / Estructura Cromática para una Obsesión at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico. This exhibition was presented at the Sala de Nuevas Tendencias from January 18 to February 25, 2007. In this new proposal Ramos explored abstraction from a dynamic configuration of color.

 


 

Biaggi & Faure and its Artists United for Women and the Red Movement (Movimiento por el Rojo y la Mujer)

On February 6th, 2007, plastic artists Edwin Maurás, Javier David Ramos, Quetzalcoatl and Ángel Rivera represented by Biaggi & Faure Fine Art painted live over sculptures in monumental format in shapes of dresses as part of the initiative of the De Rojo Movement of the American Heart Association during the first Old San Juan Noche de Galería 2007. San Juan's first lady and Codevisa organization, representatives in charge of Noches de Galería gave the artists recognition awards. These artworks will remain in the San José Plaza of Old San Juan for several months.
