Omar Medina was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico in 1980. He studied art at the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico. He has participated in several individual and collectives exhibitions in Puerto Rico. Medina explores his creative process as a means of reflection about the meaning of life.
“My abstract paintings are focused on personal memories, feelings, and in my everyday life. In my constant existential search as an artist, I have learned to value the importance of expressing those moments that mark us in a way and that represents important life stages. As life, art is always evolving, and so is the materials and technique of my body of works, reflecting the actual moment that I am living. At this time, my production portrays who I am and how I get to this life stage…full of memories and marks.”
